Chosen by the rich people as a holiday location close to the sea, but far enough from the "noisy" capital (Lisbon), the town has plenty of nice villas, high class hotels, restaurants and shops. The touristic offerings cover all kinds of budgets.
The main attractions, appart from the beach, are "Boca do Inferno", the nice downtown, the town hall building and its bay and the "Museu Conde Castro Guimaraes".
