If the capital of Rwanda, Kigali, has a pretty side, then it is well hidden. The city centre is dusty and is dominated by low rise buildings, every single one of them, it seems, housing a shop of some kind. There is little in terms of intersting architecture or sights. It is not even a laid back African place. People seem to rush from one place to another. Fortunately, it is a very sociable city and it is easy to meet locals in a good number of bars, clubs and cafes. None of them are particularly fancy but the crowd is approachable and very friendly. The city is situated amongst many hills, and there are a few spots with good views. Accommodation seems to be in good numbers, although of not very good value for money. Kigali is well connected with the rest of this tiny country through a network of minibuses. [edit text][editors]
