information about czech-republic  PragueCzech Republic, Hlavni Mesto Praha
Legend states that the builders mixed eggs with the mortar used in construction for additional strength, to avoid the fate of the Judith Bridge destroyed by a flood. The bridge is 500 yards long and 10 yards wide, lined by 30 statues predominantly sacred with many Czech saints. The statues today are largely reproductions with the originals in museums. The quaint and less travelled Kampa island is accessed by a small staircase near the western end.
