The centerpiece of the Morikami complex is the Roji-en, a grouping of six discreet gardens inspired by historical models in Japan over a stretch of 1000 years. The gardens are arrayed around a large pond, connected by a well tended gravel path with multiple benches and flat rocks ( and water fountains ) along the way for resting and contemplation. Here, the Roji-en surrounds the pond, taken from the main museum buiilding.
