Port Washington North - United States, New York The home and estate of Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States, is administered as a National Historic Site by the National Park Service. This 23 room Queen Anne Victorian was TR's primary residence and " summer white house ' during his presidency ( 1901-9 ). It is set on the highest point of Cove Neck projecting into Long Island Sound and named after an Indian chief whose tribe once occupied the land.
