Singapore travel tips

Clarke Quay
This is one place that has been recently revamped and its now 'THE' place in Singapore. Many restaurants, cafes, pubs, and clubs ply the river banks. There is plenty to see and do here. Start your day with drinks at pubs constantly offering happy hour prices. Then feast on either the Japanese, Korean, Chinese, American, Mexican, Indian, Indo-Chine, etc... cusines. There is many eateris to keep you immensely satisifed and full. If you dare, go on the reverse bungy !!!!. more

Satay Club
You don't need an address (on how to get there) or telephone number (to make reservation). Why?? Because any taxi driver, or bus driver knows the location of this famous tourist spot. Just say, to the Satay Club at Clarke Quay, and you will be taken rightaway! Try the grilled lamb, chicken, beef or prawn satay on skewers, served with the traditional peanut gravy sauce and accompanied with chunks of onions and sliced cucumbers. Simply Yummy!!! more

Chatterbox @ Meritus Mandarin
This is where you can try Singapore's most famous Chicken Rice - comprising of steamed or roasted chicken, soup, rice and veg. Though it is rather pricey as compared to getting at a coffeeshop or hawker centre, you can't compare the quality that you are getting. A dish is easily priced around $18+++. Its worth every penny! more

Long Bar @ Raffles Hotel
This is one place where you can eat your peanuts and leave them strewn on the floor!.... Yes, you won't be fined at all! This is one place where most tourists go to have the famous signature drink - Singapore Sling. Nice place to sit back and cosy up in the rattan armchairs in a colonial style building. Worth a night out! more

Hard Rock Cafe
For a good old rock and roll time, this is just the place for you! Feast on the American-styled burgers, fajitas, chicken and rib platters, and not forgetting the to die for HRC Fudge Icecream! more

Hotel 81 Geylang
Hotel 81 Chain has 15 hotels in Singapore. I stayed in one of their hotels in Geylang. Geylang is east of the centre on the way to the airport. It is a lively part of the city with lots of local restaurants The room was adaquate, but very small. It had a television, hairdryer, mini fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities. Breakfast is not included but a pot of instant noodles is provided every day. Just add hot water and breakfast is ready. The streets in Geylang are called lorongs and are numbered 1 to 42 eastward. All lorongs look alike, the numbering is a bit strange. The address of our hotel was: 20 Lorong 16, which means that the house number is 16 and the number of the lorong is 20. more
