I'm seeking a little assistance trying to figure out how to get around once i start my fabulous trip. I've been hearing a little about airpasses? Has anyone used one and/or know what airlines or agencies to go through? I'm on a bit of a budget, and I really just planned to get my round trip ticket on a discount website... help, please!

Hi Beesknees, I have used an airpass before, and would certainly recommend it if you are trying to cover a bit of territory with time limits... I purchased through exito travel (I found them through a google search- they sell only fares to Latin America) and got a steal on a ticket that took me to Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago and then back again. You didn't really specify where you will be visiting, but the destinations above all have a lot to offer, although not realistically traveled by bus, hitchhike or on a wing in a prayer-- there is far too much land to cover. You could just purchase one-ways from the local airlines, but the tourist price is often much higher. Best of luck and happy travels!
