I will be in Peru for a few weeks in August, traveling with a friend, and I was wondering about the fastest/most economical way to get out to the jungle, Iquitos in particular.
We'll have to fly, that much is clear, but the prices from Lan Peru are crazy. I know that Star Peru is significantly cheaper, but has anyone simply gone to the airport in Lima and found a flight?
Any suggestions or horror stories?
Also suggestions of places to stay in/around Iquitos would be most welcome.
