Different parts of Mallorca will appeal to different people but its capital, Palma [de Mallorca] will appeal to most. Those who go for sun, sand and something else with the same letter will find resorts in the great Bay of Palma to both sides of the city, while those who want the spectacular scenery of the north coast are well advised to spare one or two nights on the way to revel in the achitecture; the cathedral and adjacent palace in the centre and the perfectly round castle of Bellver further out.
There are also numerous art nouveau buildings.
Two railways start along parallel routes towards Manacor and Sóller respectively, the latter being a historic railway along an interesting route.
