The castle
The castle
Cortegana is on the east side of the Sierra de Aracena, a hilltop town/village, and like many it has a castle on the hilltop. The final pull up from the top of the town is quite steep.
The station called Aracena La Real is actually much closer to Cortegana and there are waymarked walks all around.
It is a good area for birdwatching, both black storks and imperial eagles being seen at times. [edit text]  [editors]
