Spain - Montserrat

Many rave about the monastery at Monserrat. Others think it mars a beautiful place but we have to admit that it wouldn't be practical for most pedestrians to get up without the cable car and there would be no cable car without the monastery. From where the cable car takes you there are two funicular rail routes. The downhill one only leads to a shrine but if you take the one uphill you can enjoy glorious views and it's the start of fine high level walks.
The monastery has a black Virgin which you can queue to touch and there is what is said to be a superb performance by a boys, choir every day at 13.00 [edit text] [editors]
