Sigiriya also known as the Lion's Rock, is famous for being Asia's oldest surviving landscape garden. With history dating back to 400AD thereabouts, this is a must do tourist sight for any visitors to Sri Lanka.
What you will marvel at is the gigantic structure looking like a lion! Entering the rock is into the lion's mouth and through the throat. The sight that awaits you is the water gardens, moats, graffiti on the walls, and the last of the 23 frescos (originally there were about 500). The frescos of bare-breasted women were painted more than 1500 years ago! [edit text][editors]
