Perhaps a source of revenu for Andy would be to have a sister-website to Globo. Which would enable our member to pay a small fee (just like globo plus-premium) for members to up-load family and friend pictures. The membership would need a password for the member to give his/her friend/family to see the pictures so that no one could see personal family pics. Yet, no undecent pictures could be loaded either under a mediator going through the pictures just like on Globo. What do you co-members think? This community has to do with travel, not family, but thats often co-incidental! Most new members (like me a long time ago) did/do know what this site is about and then not really about the quality expected. I wish though that new members would always try it out and be given a chance and a bit of more time. Our brilliant rating system for pictures and reports quickly sorts out the bad to the bottom and the serious/best to the top, perhaps that is all that is needed, some members leave realizing that its NOT a free-for-all family archive system then. A serious member/photographer/reporter over months knows very quickly what is wanted and wished and also what is not allowed or forbidden at GLOBO. Really, 80% of my private travel pictures (and experiences) have to do about people, including relations and friends, - can never upload most of it! Instead of a sister-site, the hardly used "friends" function/option at GLOBO [although most ACTIVE members I now consider as friends] might be used for this purpose - a "family & friends" or "private" function there with, as Vicki brilliantly suggests with seperate PASSWORD would be technically challenging but eventually an absolute HIT internationaly! Good health and high spirits! Personally I don't like the idea. One thing that I don't like looking at are pics that members post where they are posing in them. This is a travel site for people interested in seeing the places or the people of the country etc. I think that if people want to show off pics of their friends and family, the members website is a good idea, that way, if one chooses they can follow that members personal link. Just like your www.matrick.com site. If I choose I can follow your link to your postings of whatever interests you ie: family photos. besides as a consumer why would I pay to look at/post a family site when I can do it for free on many other sites out there ie: photobucket.com, albumtown.com, my photoalbum.com, fotki.com, imagestation.com or photos.yahoo.com etc. just my 2 cents. And personally I wouldn't even use this function myself. But it could be a source of revenue for Andy. What I was proposing is another website but only for people interested and to share with only the people they want to share it with. Many people would like that. In my office already, some people were interested in something like that. And since I do work in the airline industry, maybe they'll then be interested in participating on Globosapiens too. That is why I was thinking of a *sister site*. Globo is for travelling only. But a similar site for 'personal pics' may be another branch for Globo.
