Let's imagine I have not been to France and decide on a holiday in Normandy. I want to know what places I should regard as must-sees and which I can ignore. So I look up guides, click for Europe and then for France. Up come a few places and I can click to see more.
I do so and an enormous list comes up of places with guides. How can I tell which are in Normandy? I can't! So what do I do next? The sad truth is that I probably go to another board! Yet, when proposing a new site in France a member has to give its area. If they were listed by area, clearly I could have looked up the ones in Normandy,
I imagine that it would be a major job to do this for a lot of countries but surely a number of us from different countries would be able to help with a bit of instruction first from Andy. I should certainly be prepared to do so for the UK, where, as yet, no region is requested for a new place.

--- Grieve not for that which you cannot do but rejoice in that which you can.
That is a great idea David. If there isn't an application for this, I think a quick and dirty solution would be to have members come up with a variety of regions in their country (Canada for example; West Coast, Prairies, Central Canada, Maritimes, Arctic). Then Andy could implement it over time.
