Hi....
Not sure if many share the same views with me, I realised of late that when caught between awarding 4* or 5*, norm is to choose the latter. I wonder if the rating should be increased to 6* instead.
What say u?

Hi,
I think 1*-5* is sufficient. The top quality material comes from few members. Every now and again, (mainly new) members submit reports of 2* and 3* quality, and I think the system works well.
Kindest regards

Hi There
In my opinion
Ratings over all are just too friendly.
We have a 5 Star rating system so we all should stick to it and only give the full five for top quality stuff and 3 or 4 for the good to very good. There's no problem with 3 Stars.
It's just a matter of fact that we just have the 5 Stars if it would be increased to 6 in no time people would award 6 Stars like now 5 and it then would have been 7 eventually we would be at 10...
No let's just stick to it and only give the full 5 to very few stuff and keep the full 5 for special work so that it really stands out.

I agree with Martin on 5* phots and I have tightened up a lot on awarding 5 - though I think I might be far more liberal than he with 4s.
I do find myself giving a lot of 5*s for reports, however - though I do now use the whole range. I have wondered whether I give 5* too easily but I think is merely a consequence of the fact that there are so many top reports on Globo. It would certainly not to be fair to resist giving 5* where it's due on the grounds that too many 5*s have been given already.
I think Martin's general comments that the same thing would happen if 6* became possible - but if having a lot of really first class reports is a problem, let's have more problems!
