Thun is a nice little town on the end of lake thun. It's ideally nestled on the foot of the mountains on the shore of the lake and near Switzerlands capital Bern. There are 40000 people living there, in summer you can go for a swimm in the lake or the river, go sailing, walking... in winter there is plenty of skiing opportunities nearby and more...
The town itself has a old castle from the 12th century and on its foot there lies the old town separated by the river aare. In the old town you find a nice pedestrian area with shopping possibilities.
