Haiti Feb. 2002 (2 weeks) arrive in Haiti via Miami. Enter Port au Prince, switch to Carib air to connect to Cap-Haitien in the North. While there I visited, Plain Du Norde,Grande Rivere, Labadi and Milot(La Citedal and Sans Souci). On the return Tap-Tap to Gonaives spent one night, bus to Port au Prince. Return to Canada.
Haiti Nov. 2002 (2weeks) Fly to Cap Haitien, pick up my husband. Visited Limonade, Leogane, Jacmel and back to Port au Prince. Return to Canada. Off to Africa.
Haiti Jan.2004 arrive in Haiti, switch to Carib air to Cap-Haitien, pick up my husband, Tap-Tap to Ouanaminthe, cross border to Dajabon, DR. Cross back over the border after (2 weeks)to return to Au-Cap. The Haitien border was closed for about 4hrs and we were stuck in no-mans land between Haiti/DR. Left Oaunaminthe by 11am. Rebels invaded Oaunaminthe that afternoon, killed the police and burned down the stations. Arrive in Au-Cap, stay one night, fly to Turks and Caicos(4days)return to Au-Cap, fly to Port-au-Prince, road from Au-Cap to PaP controlled by rebels and they had control of Gonaives. The air was very thick with unrest. Return to Canada.
