S15 Sukhumvit Hotel
The S15 Sukhumvit Boutique Hotel opened its doors in 2007. Today it's rooms are still in good condition and decor still fresh.
All rooms delux through to main suite boast LCD TV, some have sofas, and the main suite has a jacuzzi.
The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very tasteful & comfortable, starting at 3,200Baht to 5,200Baht per night depending on the choice of room.
Location is on the main Sukhumvit Bangkok on the corner of Soi 15, it's only a 2 minute walk to Asoke BTS Skytrain.
In the immediate vicinity are Robinsons department store, Boots Chemist, dozens of restaurants of all types, shops galore selling everything, plus bars & pubs, massage & spa outlets, and a swish shopping Mall and cinema too.
I have stayed here countless times because of its great location and i'll be booking again.
TIP: Don't just look at other holiday/ hotel booking websites, also look at theirs, often they do room/ package deals that are better than other websites. more

BTS Skytrain Bangkok
UPDATE!!
Thought i'd update you on the Skytrain's new route opening from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Reports from the Bangkok Post Newspaper suggest that as from August 9th 2009 you'll be able to travel to and from the airport into the city. (Seek further information nearer the time to avoid potential travel problems).
As any regular traveller to Bangkok knows what it's like using taxis at the airport, some tourists have been ripped off by taxi/ limo touts who charge up to a whopping 5 times more than official airport taxis to drive into the city centre.
But, from August 2009 tourists can opt to use the clean, airconditioned efficiently run BTS Skytrain to get directly into central Bangkok.
Fares are yet to be anounced, however, it's likely to be less than the average 325 Baht (£6.50) taxi fare.

Bangkok airport to Sukhumvit
UPDATE!! A taxi into central Bangkok is cheaper than you think, and more convenient than the bus. BUT BEWARE! as you come out of arrivals you'll be set upon by many taxi/ limosine touts that will charge you up to 5 times the standard rate. So here's what to do; firstly dont even entertain these taxi touts, keep walking and head to EXIT 4, once outside look right for a large desk, usually they have a TAXI sign up. They are the official airport taxis and charge much LESS etc, the taxis are either blue & red or green & yellow, or pink or orange. Give the full address of your accommodation, they will get you a taxi right away. Once they give you a slip of paper go to your taxi, you'll pay a surcharge of 50 Baht to the driver ontop of your fare. Make sure the driver puts on the METER, I have gotten to the sukhumvit, central Bangkok for as little as 300 baht, sometimes up to 400 baht including Tollway of 65 baht. If traffic is busy expect to pay a little extra. more

Relax Zone Massage & Spa
Put aside your preconceptions about Thai massage shops, this one is pretty much a straight massage shop.
Located virtually at the bottom of Exit 4 of Asoke BTS Skytrain station, this massage shop is operated by a friendly well spoken Thai lady. When i was last there she was working on various massage and spa treatment offers for tourists, buying multiple treatments will save you money, but more importantly, will give you a great relaxation experience.
I tried out the 1 hour Foot massage which was very relaxing.
Next day i tried the 2 hour Thai massage, WOW, i floated out of this place several inches off the ground feeling incredibly relaxed.
I've been back several times since. I've have had mixed experiences in the quality of Thai massage techniques in other places, so when i find a good one i stick to it.
This isn't a luxury spa, it's a basic massage shop, but one of the best i've been in.
A 2 hr Thai massage costs just 500 Baht, just what you need after a long flight. more

Make a Day of the River Taxi
Start in the morning by taking the skytrain S to Sasphan Taskin station. Head toward Central Pier once off the train. There should be signs or ask. You want the pier to the left. Tha Sathorn is the name.
Hop on the next one that comes. Make sure you head north toward Nonthaburi Pier, there are maps at the piers. There are stops for Chinatown, Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Banglamphu, and more.
