Kaya House
Kaya House is a guest house located at Patong beach in Phuket (about 7 minutes walk from the beach, close to the shopping area, and pretty much in the center of things). The greatest advantage of this guest house is that the rooms are really good and cheap. all the rooms contain air-con, hot shower inside the room, tv, mini refrigerator, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are clean (cleaned everyday). The ladies in the office are really nice and friendly, and will help you with whatever you need. They also sell trips and flights, etc. (travel agency). I highly recommend Kaya House. more

Kata Villa, Karon Beach
Booked for 2 nights in Aug 07, had no sleep because of adjoining paper thin doors to each room because of noise. Seems lots of older European men and young Thai girls frequent this place. Rooms were stuff y with no ventilation as couldn't open windows. Rooms were clean and staff friendly but when saying we would not stay an extra night the European Manager was very rude and abusive and said he would have us thrown off the property. We have travelled all over Thailand for the last 30 years and have never ever come across any person as rude as this. The food was bland and there are much better "Thai" places than this. This is not a hotel or a villa just basically a backpacker place. Anyway, Samui and the islands are a much better option at this time of year. more
Imperial hotel
i ended up spending the night in this hotel. at 650 thai baht per night for a standard aircon single room with cable tv, mini bar, ensuite shower, basin and toilet. it was value for money compared with pricier hotels nearby in shocking condition. this hotel in clean, friendly professional looking staff. no drama's.
for 2 people it would have been just 750 thai baht for the room. price per room NOT per person.
right next door to the hotel is a great little internet cafe serving really tasty food - western & thai. run by a british guy with nice thai staff, this place was just a gem to hang out in for a few hours, use the wireless/ wired internet, and sample some of the good food and homemade natural fruit smoothies. more
DAENG PLAZA HOTEL
GHASTLY hotel ! UNCLEAN, UNKEPT, RUN DOWN, IN POOR CONDITION. OVER PRICED ROOMS ! NO running water or flushing toilet on check-in, once water was restored it came out of the tap a filthy mud colour,the tap fosset wasnt fixed down properly. the rooms are poorly maintained, polly filler scrappings on the walls here and there, inadequate lighting in room, just 3 small lamps around the edges of the room and fixed to the wall. the whole hotel from reception to inside the rooms needed commercial cleaners.
avoid this hotel like the plague !! lol
p.s. i had to select mid range in the price range slot because the prices are mid range but the hotel is very budget looking inside. more
