Some of the prettiest scenery in England can be found touring the Heart of England and particularly to the south of that area – The Cotswolds. The Cotswolds covers several counties in middle England. Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and contain some of England’s best kept secrets – British Pubs - they undoubtedly provide the best and frequently cheapest eating and drinking and some provide lodging at reasonable prices. My tip: - buy “The Good Pub Guide” (www.goodguides.co.u-k) and stick to its bigger entries.

What's really great:
Spring is a lovely time to do this trip, chiefly because it is less congested with tourists and the blossom is out on the fruit trees with daffodils, hyacinths, crocus and tulips really showing that they are amongst the prettiest of the world’s spring flowers. Lambs abound in the fields and the cottages and stone built houses are so pretty. A good itinerary could cover this area in about three days, in depth allow at least a week (once you have found a delightful inn for lunch – you won’t want to leave)
Sights:
The whole area is beautiful - The towns and villages mentioned above are each worth a visit individually and Cheltenham is a good base in the South of the area generally.
