Mar 07, 2006 09:00 PM Winter wonderland

This wouldn't be considered a vacation trip. Generally my job duty takes me to the sierra nevada mountains in California. I travel to the 4,000 foot elevation. Due to the recent cold winter weather we have had, snow has fallen very low. When I make my way up the mountain freeway I begin to see snow at a low elevation. At least for California. I get to my work destination to a little place called Baxter off the Interstate. On this day the sun is shining bright and it is the only thing that feels warm. This place is buried under feet of snow. My arrival takes me to a place that is white everywhere. The snow reflects off the snow making it gorgeous. Only to think that the day before a blizzard blew thru and another snow storm was coming in a couple of days. If you enjoy skiing or anything that is snow related California is the place to come. We have had so many snow storms is the last week they are going to rename March to January.

Feb 25, 2006 09:00 PM The wine country is the divine country

Today I decided to take a short but wonderful trip to the wine country. Although I generally don't drink wine. I come to the Sonoma Napa valleys for the scenery and wonderful towns. I went to visit Santa Rosa and see the coast. Lucikly for me I live very close to these most beautiful places. Sonoma and Napa valleys are only a couple hours away. Coming to visit on a weekend even during the offseason can be less enjoyable. Unfortunately these places have narrow roads which can make traffic unbearable at times. The cities which are worth the trip are surrounded by lush hills and mountains which are filled with beautiful forests. Every country road is a treat and can come with many surprises. Quaint little towns dot the map and make a vacation more of a mission to visit these places. The Sonoma coast is filled with rugged shoreline and sometimes very cold weather. For people who are planning a trip they should put this area high on their list.

Feb 18, 2006 09:00 PM Wonderful LALA Land

Well here I am on my mini vacation in Los Angeles. Although I only live five hours away from this beautiful area I hardly visit. Today I spent a few hours visiting the John Paul Getty Museum. This place is unbelievably beautiful and is worthy of the works it holds. Getting here was easy and visiting was more than worth the minimal parking fee. In my three hour visit I probably only covered half the museum. Outside you have wonderful views of the coast, the mountains, and the skyline. Quite a great day to be here away from the dirty smog.
