Oct 09, 2006 12:00 AMArriving at Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar
On the way I stoped in Tengboche where there is a veny nice monastery, and slept for two nice in Dingboche to acclimatize. From Gora Shep, the trek is difficult, as it involves crossing the Khumbu Glacier, only stones, stones stones.... and more stones! But it is very rewarding, on arrival I was greated by a carcass of a helicopter that crashed a few years ago, but it was very rewardind to have made it!
I celebrated by eating a mars bars which I saved for that occasion, this was the best Mars bar I have ever eaten at 5364m hight!
The mornig after we set off for Kala Patthar at nearly 5600, the views were fantastic, it was well worth it!
We saw Everest, Lhotse, Nupse, island Peak...
I have made did, no altitude sicness, I was very Happy!
Oct 05, 2006 12:00 AMArriving in Namche Bazar
Situated at 3446m, I spend two nights over here in order to get acclimitised. Namche is the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park, I went to visit their museum.
The day before The Maoist rebels, robbed me of 2500 Nepaleese roopees which is about 35$, a lot of money when you are trekking. It was very annoying, you could not even talk to them, "if you don t pay you do not go pass!"
I just fellt like hitting them with my walking stick!
By 9 pm I was in bed!

Jun 18, 2006 12:00 AMtime to go home
After a week of Horse riding, and sea Kayaking, it was time to go back home. My only souvenir is a massive 11 cm bruise on my leg which I have got when Kayak capsize and I had to get out.
Corsica is Really lovely, I wil probably get back there one day!
Jun 17, 2006 12:00 AMCycling on Corsican roads
We rented some bikes and we cycle to Cargesse which is a small village created my Greeks on the coast, at the north of Ajaccio.
After climbing the big hill, we were glad to arrive in the village.
Corsicans are driving like crazy, they are really mad behing the wheel, sometines it s really scarry!
The village is really pretty. There the port and 2 churches to visit.
Later we went back to the bungalows, and had a good swim in the sea.
Jun 15, 2006 12:00 AMsea kayaking
Sea kayaking is really hard when you haven't done it before we have done 12Km today, we went to little beach where we slept for the night. We sat down around a fire cooking some pork chops and bananas with chocolate cream.
It was really nice to sleep under the star it was fantastic. But my shoulders hurt a lot! My endurance was testing to the limit!
The return to the centre was really hard.
Jun 13, 2006 12:00 AMHorse Riding
At 09.00 I made my way to the Ranch to see my companion for the next two days. The name of my horse was Tintin, he was really lovely. Riding in the Corsican country side is really great, the horses goes every where. After lunch we carried on then we came back to the Ranch by a path that alows you to se all the coast with the sea, it was really fantastic.
I did enjoy my day!
