The semester from hell is finally over and I find myself once again jetting across the Atlantic in search for some fun in Europe! First stop - London, then through the continent and ending up in Rome!

Apr 30, 2003 11:08 AM It's Party Time!
It's Queen's Day in Amsterdam and the whole city has gone absolutely crazy. I walked past an internet cafe so I decided to pop in and pen a few lines to update on my travels, as well as to make use of this new function which Andy designed. There was heavy rain earlier in the day but now that it has cleared, everybody is outdoors again and creating pretty much a scene! But I love it, and it's so good to be back!

Apr 28, 2003 05:17 AM Revisiting Umbria
Seated at my favourite Internet point in the capital of Umbria, Perugia in central Italy. It feels nice - but weird - revisiting as a tourist all the places that were a part of my daily life just a year ago. The weather is great, slightly cloudy but mostly sunny and warm, about 18 degrees celcius. I will be getting on the train soon to get to Assisi, then to Rome. Tomorrow I will catch a flight to Amsterdam just in time to celebrate the Queen's birthday.

Apr 25, 2003 05:00 PM European Summer Vista!
In a couple of hours I will finally be on my first early summer vacation to Europe! First stop is Rome, where shopping will be just oh-so-cool on the Via Del Corso. It would be so nice to return to my favourite cafe facing the Piazza Venezia, with the Colosseum not far away in the backgound.
Then there's the evening Eurostar to catch, to Perugia where I plan to spend a bit of time visiting my old university. Umbria is a very beautiful land-locked region, and Perugia, its capital, has numerous treasures if you look hard enough and hike to the extremes of the hill town.
After a few days, it will be time to head to the Venice of the North - Amsterdam! April 30 is Koninginnedag (Queen's Day) in the Netherlands, and it's my annual pilgrimage to this loveliest of countries! Will update whenever I have the chance to.
