Sunday the 15th of October 2006 is very special to me. That is the day I experienced the true spirit of being a globosapien. Little did I know when my flight landed in Schipol that I would be visiting this most beautiful place of the Limburg province, "The Valkenburg"and also that I would be meeting a fellow globosapien in real!!
Not carrying a camera is disadvantage ofcourse, but I felt I could see more with real eyes and paid more attention to this excellent family.
It was a 2.5 hrs drive from Putten to Valkenburg. Erik spotted me at the train station, which was our rendevouz point.

Erik lead us through this nice little town, where we first visited the 'Gemeentegrot or the towncave'. Cold and dark inside but circumventing a bygone civilization, animal world and fossil facts, that was a nice experience inside the caves.
We went on for a nice little walk through the woods and spent few minutes at the castles. Pan cake and Beer was great in one of the local eating places. It was a shopping day for the town so we had to find a way through the busy streets.
We went up the ruins of the Valkenburg castle reading the stories of what it was when it was once alive.

We were done with the trip with a nice coffee. What a day it had been, weather was great and the company was even more great (I am not speaking for Marianne though:)).
We drive together to Erik&Marianne's house and I stopped briefly before hitting the road.
This is going to be fresh in my memory for a long time to come.
The trip also made me to start think about...when a fellow globo visits Hyderabad and I get to know...would I be as kind to offer guidance and give him/her few hours!!!! I guess I would otherwise I did not learn much today.
