Apr 09, 2010 06:00 PM My volunteering job in Pokhara

I cannot describe it in this small pieces of paper Thanks to Mr Krishna , Director of this organization who provide me this chance to write few words about this organization.

I have got some chance to see some activities in rural area.

Volunteer Venture Nepal staffs welcomed me, touched me and even more, continues to touch me... Here is in some words an outline of what was my environment and my daily activities for the few months spent in this beautiful country…

The introduction in the community made possible with the help of Volunteer Venture Nepal, and the NGO (non governmental organization) was always there during key moments of our volunteering project, although not overprotective, leaving place for us to organize our activities. We were lodged by a family in kaskikot which was very much involved in the community for the total duration of our training course. Dimension of the family life was if not more important as much as the activities we had during our stay. Since the family and community values are very present and strong within the Nepalese culture, living with people of the community enabled us to be an integral part of the village and thus made the meeting and development of relationships easier. The contact with the culture itself, the life habits, traditions, festivals, etc was thus very strong. The exchanges with the members close to the family were very nice . Kaskikot is very interesting place to stay and everybody feels very easy there.

Dec 11, 2009 09:00 PM Volunteer work in Nepal

Volunteer work in Nepal I was working as volunteer in Pokhara in 2009 March I found some nice information from this office .I worked as English teacher volunteer in Bal
parvat school Pokhara.

The association Volunteer Venture is dedicated to promoting community tourism by welcoming volunteers and travelers to discover the cultural differences in Nepal has to offer, while being part of the community. Therefore, the organization offers both, a cultural and a volunteer homestay programme, teaching English volunteers ,health volunteers and many more opportunity all over the Nepal. , the organization can also arrange hostel arrangements and host family stays for individuals.
To succeed in its mission, Volunteer Venture has adopted the following key words:
• Participating in sustainable community development
• Sensitizing volunteers in project development
• Sensitizing local actors in hosting volunteers
• The immersion of volunteers and tourists in the Nepalese culture
Since Volunteer Venture intervene in both, social-economic and cultural domains, the scope of our partnerships is broad and includes: government school, private schools, hospitals, NGOs, public services, health centres, responsible tour operators, artists, women's associations and diverse associations, fighting against poverty, aids, handicaps and the lack of hygiene and education

The Volunteer Venture Nepal Development-projects are initiated to help locals carry through changes that they think are needed to improve life in their area. The projects include the building and running of schools, sponsorships to schoolchildren and capacity building training as well as micro business support and giving health education in clinics and in the communities. Volunteer Venture runs the projects by funding and organizing the initial work together with a local committee.

Due to the belief that intercultural meetings and exchange leads to development of both parties Volunteer Venture organizes volunteer and education programs through which people from abroad can come to Nepal. The volunteers are selected to workplaces in need of help and students can take courses or do their thesis and internships in Nepal. During the time in Nepal most of the program participants
