I experienced the Lowlands by spending some time at the Hilton Tobago. Just outside of Scarborough and off the Claude Noel Highway is Plantation, a gated community housing multimillion dollar residences. A short drive from there will take you to the Hilton. The hotel is situated on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean side of the island, which results in rolling waves and very breezy days and evenings. I could sit all evening just listening to the waves, it is so idyllic! If the beach is only a part of your holiday, then going to the mangrove swamp is a very pleasurable diversion. It is usually remarkably quiet and you can take a leisurely stroll or have a picnic on the decking. [edit text][editors]
