Mount Pleasant is a small quiet village in the south east about a 10 to 15 minute drive from the airport. There are two churches that I know of - an Anglican, SDA, and a Baptist; two restaurants and a few bars or which is known locally as rum shops.
The Anglican Church – St Andrews is one of the oldest churches in the Caribbean that sits high on top the hill, and whose bells can be heard ringing far and wide on Sunday mornings.
Down on the flat there is a sports ground, well it’s just an open field, that if you pass on the right weekend you can find kids enjoy their sport’s day and on Tobago’s Day is home to the Goat race. Around Easter they have a day when everyone in the community comes out to support the local pastime.
On the border of Mount Pleasant and Carnbee is the Dixieland pan yard; it's a local hang out during the carnival season to listen to the steelband practicing. [edit text][editors]
