Lake Bunyonyi - one of Uganda's lovliest lakes

Lake Bunyonyi is one Uganda's most dramatically situated lakes. It is long and of an irregular shape. It has many islands, some of which are inhabited and at least one has a community project and a guesthouse. The rolling evergreen hills surrounding the lake make an awesome scenery. There is not much to do on the lake but relax and visit some of the local communities. Movement between the islands and the mainland is based on local canoe boats, many of which are unreliable for timetable... Still, the lake receives many visitors, and apparently there are plans for allowing the hydroplanes to land on the lake to boost tourism even harder. This would however spoil the relaxing atmosphere of the place. [edit text] [editors]
