Achnahaird is the finest beach n west Coigach in Scotland. After the unclassified road off the road frrm Ullapool to Durness metts the monumentally unclassifiable [but immensely beautiful] road from Lochinver it soon reaches a junction. Turn right off the 'main' Achikltibuie road and you will shortly trach a small road to your right signed 'To the beach.' It's a short footpath walk from the end of the road.
The beach is ideal for children and is a Mecca for canoeists and small boats. There is an idyllic place for caravans above the beach.
There are great views of all the Coigach mountains, Suilvem, Canisp and Quinag. On returning along the small road, turn right and you can join the Achiltibuie road again later after enjoying views that stand out even in this area of views over the Summer Islands [q,v,] and much of Scotland away to the main Torridon Hills and to Skye.
