Ballycastle is a small seaside town in Northern Ireland - county Antrim. It is best known for the the fair 'Ould Lammas Fair' that occurs there in August and is probably the largest of its kind in Ireland. Ballycastle is the perfectly situated to make it easy to get to: the Causeway coast , the Giant's Causeway, Dunseverick Castle, the Bushmills Distillery, WhitePark Bay, Ballintoy and of course Carrickarede Ropebridge.
To get to the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge there is a lovely kilometre walk that takes you through the limestone headland and former quarry, along to coast. This bridge provides a challenge to cross as it bounces and swings with every footstep. It was first erected by fishermen as a way to get their catch of the day ie Salmon to the mainland and if you look really carefully you can seem some as you look down. [edit text][editors]
