Beaumaris is on the Island of Anglesey at the north-west of Wales. It's view across the Menai Straits to the mainland [where hte Romans once waded across to conquer the Druids] embraces part of the Snowdonia National Park.
Beaumaris has otherwise only one major feature but that, the castle is a real pearl. it was built to be the last in a ring of castles by which Edward I would keep the Welsh subjected. Architturally it is al that anybody could dream of in a castle strted in the 13th century. [edit text][editors]
