Broadford is nothing special, but then nobody goes all the way to Skye to look at towns. The important thing about Broadford is its role as a junction and a bus centre.
The three possible approaches to Skye by road meet here, the bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin, the car ferry from Mallaig to Armadale and the one [summer only from Glenelg to Kylerhea [Mainland place first each time]. Buses go from Broadford to Portree, Skye’s capital, to Armadale, Kyle and Torrin. If you are only on Skye for the day, see if you can fit in a trip to Torrin – or, if you are driving, to Glenbrittle.
There is something called a Serpentarium in Broadford now. I guess it’s obvious what you see there and they claim children love it. [edit text][editors]
