Travel guide to Fort Augustus

Fort Augustus, Scotland.

Fort Augustus is situated at the south-east end of Loch Ness. Loch Ness forms part of the Caledonian canal, which stretches from coast to coast, more traditonal canl parts liking a series of lochs in the Great Glen.
There are roads on both sides of the loch, that to the north being much faster and giving access to Drumnadrochit, the 'Nessie' or Loch Ness Monster centre. The other side is far more picturesque.
The road is frequently closed for brief intervals to alow boats to change from or to the loch to or from the canal section to the south. [edit text] [editors]
