Travel guide to Haworth

Haworth is part of the Bradford Metropolitan District in West Yorkshire - but you'd never think of it other than as a village. The basis of the village is a single steep road up to the church and the Parsonage Museum. At one stage the Vicar was the Rev. Patrick Bronte and his three daughters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne wrote many of their famous boks there.
However most cars go up a road which bypasses this from the station on the preserved Keighley and Worth Valley railway, where steam locomotives still run.
It makes a fine centre for walks, many going through or to areas reminiscent of the Bronte sisters' novels.
Although it is certainly a village, it would be stretching a point to call it unspoilt and you might find the commercialisation over the top. if so, just visit the museum and go over to Hebden Bridge, a lovely ride [bus service] and even better walks. [edit text]  [editors]
