Travel guide to Land's End
Land's End (GB) - a crescent of a cliff
Land's End (GB) - a crescent of a cliff
Land's End is England's (and Cornwall's) westernmost point. I lies about 13 kilometres (8 miles) south-west from Penzance and about 45 kilometres (28 miles) north-east from the Isles of Scilly. And between the isles and Land's End the fictional home of Tristan (the legend of Tristan and Iseult) once was, but was consumed by the ocean. The scenery of Land's End is amongst England's most dramatic for hiking. The shore is a combination of bare rocky cliffs and overgrown green cliffs. There is a tourist centre at Land's End offering information about hiking around the area. In the local language (Cornish) Land's End is Penn an Wlas.

There is also the Land's End Airport (LEQ) based in St Just nearby. It serves small aircraft for the Isles of Scilly, capable of landing on a short grass runway. [edit text]  [editors]
