Travel guide to Meavy
Meavy is a small but immensely attractive village on the fringe of Dartmoor. A visit would fit in easily with Sheepstor [church and tor] and Burrator resevoir.

It's the green that is the main attraction with its ancient oak tree, something like 80 years old with its branches now supported by metal struts. Behind the green is the village pub, appropriately named after the tree but why The Royal Oak? There are legends of Stuarts hiding in oak trees but not in this area. [edit text]  [editors]
