The coast around Ramasaig is not exactly secret. There’s even a road to Ramasaig, albeit unclassified, from the B884, which leaves the A863 at Dunvegan. However many thousands have been to Skye without knowing what’s here and what they have missed. First the cliffs at nearby Waterstein Head are over 1000 feet high and some slightly further north are even higher.
Second, by following the track south from the road’s end at Ramasaig and then continuing on the costal path you will reach, after a few miles, the wonderful scenery of Macleod’s Maidens, a group of sea stacks, and Idrigill Point, a major headland.
OK, maybe people don’t come to Skye for coastal scenery. If they want to see some of the best in the UK, they should! [edit text]  [editors]
