Travel guide to Ravenglass
Ravenglass in on the coast to the west of the Lake District, the only coastal town in the National Park.
It's a fine situation and an unclassified road that cuts off a huge bend in the main road to Broughton in Furness gives wonderful views of England's highest peaks and of the Coniston group.
Attractions very close are the preserved steam railway to Eskdale [there are often steam trips on the main line as well] and Muncaster and the separate Muncaser Mill.
Sellafield nuclear ex-power plant is said to make a good visit not far away. [edit text]  [editors]
