Travel guide to Saint Just

Cape Cornwall from Kenidjack 'Castle'

Saint Just is often called 'St Just in Penwith' to distinguish it from St Just in Roseland [near St Mawes and Falmouth.

Although it might seem like a uqintessential English village it describes itself as a town, a claim probably justified by the number of shops, pubs and churches. Apart from the church, nothing appears particularly beautiful individually but it's a case where the whole is undoubtedly greater than the parts.

The church is remarkable for its two medieval paintings, one of St George and the Dragon and the other being 'Jesus of the Trades.'

The immediate area is rich in sights. Cape Cornwall, Botallack and Levant all combine fine coastal scenery with inspiring mining remains whist at Carn Gloose their is the fine Bollawal round barrow [edit text] [editors]
