Travel guide to Solva
Solva is on the south coast of the northernmost peninsula in Pembrokeshire a little east of St David’s. It is completely atypical of the national park and therefore is one illustration of the park’s variety. To the east is the vast and rather bleak beach at Newgale and to the west the marvellous beaches of the St. David’s peninsula. Neither is much given to woodland, to say the least.

By contrast Solva lies at the end of a wide and wooded estuary, which once made it ideal as a port and now provides the main sailing area of North Pembrokeshire. Short and easy walks by the side of the estuary are also very attractive.

The Ship Inn is popular with locals and visitors and the traditional woollen mill is open to view and very popular. [edit text]  [editors]
