Summerbridge, as it's often written is a few miles down the river Nidd from Pateley Bridge. Nidderdale is not technically included in the Yorkshire Dales National Park although it clearly should have been. Possibly the omission explains the lack of recorded walking in the area.

The most notable thing is a few miles up a very steep unclassified road starting north east and veering north. This is the National Trust owned site of Brimham Rocks. They are amazingly shaped rocks of millstone grit,. sculpted in an ice age [edit text]  [editors]
