Just south of Carmel lies Big Sur, a 90 mile stretch of nearly untouched coastline. Whether you choose a walk in the woods, through old growth Redwood (some of the tallest trees in the world) or a stroll on the ocean bluffs, Big Sur is a treat for the senses. Point Lobos, a rock pennisula poking out into the Pacific, offers whale watching almost year around, and some supendous cold water diving. Imagine being at the base of a 70 foot kelp forest and looking up through the transparent leaves! For the hiker, Big Sur offer some terrific day hikes, as well as great back pack destinations. Stand on top of Devil's Peak and enjoy a 360 panoramic view over dense woods and stunning ocean! Take a walk on the wild side of the California Coastline! [edit text][editors]
