Azerbaijan visa requirements change!

krisek Premium account Joined: Jan 08 Points: 84174 Posts: 203 Posted: 2011-05-17 19:52:00    Hello all, Just to let you know that from 1 June 2011, the process to obtain visas to Azerbaijan will change. Visas on arrival at the Baku International Airport will no longer be available and tourists and visitors will need to obtain visas before travel. Also, a few changes are planned how to go about and apply for visas. However, information about the changes has been inconsistent in a number of publication by a various diplomatic representations across the world. Some (inlcuding the Embassy in Warsaw) state that tourism visas will only be available through accredited tour operators. Others (including the Embassy in London) mentions a regular consulate-visit-base process and applications through post. Prior to this change the visa application regime for Azerbaijan has been relatively relaxed for this part of the world. There is currently nothing to indicate that is going to discontinue after the change. The application form is not changing and is very simple and short.
