I'm Catholic, but it's because I converted in college. I love my religion, both now and past, which was Jewish. I have a somewhat jewish last name and am concerned about traveling to the United Arab Emirates and Dubai in particular. Is there any official law on this? I am an American and don't have any Israeli stamps on my passport, but I want to find out that I'll be safe no matter what happens. I don't want to have to worry that I'll be sent back when I arrive at the airport.

I just wondered whether you have had any responses, and what your experience was? I'm in a very similar position to you! Thanks

Check with your embassy in Dubai. They will know best and have up-to- date status in these matters. In your case: http://dubai.usconsulate.gov/

This article may answer your question to some extent. If you are an Israeli diamond dealer not traveling on an israeli passport, they'll let you in. So become an Israeli diamond dealer, if that's what it takes! And do not wear Hassidic garb. That's a real giveaway. No tsitsis, no teffillen, no Torah! OK?
