Hi Matt

I looked into this recently for another friend. Unemployment and criminality still rule the streets of the big cities but with just obeying a few rules and mainly being awake and aware, life their can be even more enjoyable as one thinks at first. The brain drain is said to have long levelled out and the tendancy reversed. here are some useful websites:

Some useful links and forums:

A few general tips (for all countries) at:

www.goinglobal.com/countries/safrica/South_Africa_work.asp

An excellent article (2003) writes positively about returning to RSA:

Two books, both available at Amazon, to take in:

Africa With a Twist And a Tale (David Henry)

Culture Shock - South Africa (Dee Rissik)

Rudi
