In love with Finland huh? Yes, I think a lot of people are taken by the romance of scandinavia and the old tales of the Kalevela. The reality is this: The countryside is quite lovely, but not with a lot of variety. The trees and other nature are limited because of the climate. The climate here is the hardest thing... often 5 to 6 months of winter and snow - its not good! Its a very expensive place to live for the most part, and jobs are hard to come by - I know Im still looking after 4 years!
On the plus side - it is a very unspoilt country for the most, with good resources and the freshest air you ever smelt (outside of Canada). Food is simple but good, and very wholesome.
Let me know if you want to know more...and yes - they accept immigrants!

Yes indeed
Slán agus Beannacht is the Gaelic farewell. It means in English Safe and Blessing.
I was looking at your lighthouse picture yesterday and was much taken with the composition and mood. Someone else had said something about focus but my eyes are older and i could not be sure. It is a soft focus subject anyway and who can have all items from close at hand to 150 million kms. (the sun) sharp!!
I was afraid to get in a =n argument so i said nothing!!
All your pictures are very interesting.
It is easy in Ireland to find greenery but the ivy garden must be unusual in yiur climate?
again thank you
kind regards
Hugh

Hello Cigdem! I am glad to hear that you enjoy my picture gallery at my travel page - it makes me also quite proud to see, that already 100.000 guests have visited my site in less than 2 years. Actually I really enjoy travelling in the arab countries, unfortunally I never really been to Turky except a short trip to Istanbul and Adana on my way to Syria. Well, it would be a pleasure to chat with you or answer any questions! Best wishes from Frankfurt - Ralph

I appreciate your signing my guestbook and letting me know that the pictures and captions for Turkey met with your approval. It's nice hearing from people who live in the countries where I was just a temporary visitor.
The video from that trip, "What the Sultan Saw", still appears difficult to see in Turkey, where it appears broadband, high speed internet connections are not yet common. Too bad.
