Hi Globos
I'm planing to climb uhuru peak in February, I would have liked to join an organised tour but the trip isn't yet confirmed. Can somebody give me some hints and tips about the climb? Did you plan it with a local guide, did you join an international group, ...?
I read the notes of gardkarlsen already, anybody more with information?

Hi
I seen that you have seen my report already. I went to Kilimanjaro in September/October in 2003 and I did the Machame route. Have you seen the more extended trip report on my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com. Here you will find a day by day diary, review of equipment that I used, pictures, links to other Kili sites etc. I hope that you can find some useful information there. Good luck on your climb :-)
Regards

I climbed Kilimanjaro in 1997. I did the Marangu route, and the climb was organised by Marangu Hotel. They are most professional. You'll find information on the following Web Address: http://www.maranguhotel.com/
Trond --- I have travelled a lot in Tanzania and especially in Zanzibar and would be glad to give advice to other Globo members.

Hello there, just have returned from afrika with my wife and two daughters,2 weeks ago .Our dream came true after our care was well treated by mount safaris adventure from Nairobi Kenya.
Mountsafaris website
We got them through our family friend who had just visited kenya an year before.
Hiking was great for both mountain(Mount Kenya and Kilimanjaro)Our guide was well informed about the mountain, flora and fauna which we came across.
Mount Kenya was beautiful with the valcanic rocks, moraines, crater lakes and the summit lenana.
Kilimanjaro was also great and we had good time with our guide. The food was amazing and we forgotten the cold wether on both mountain.
We were treated like kings and queens. The poters werer great and every evening we had nice songs of Kenya´´ Jambo hakuna matata´´which mean no problem in Kenya.
Jeremiah our guide made our trip quite interesting and worth.
The price was great and they deserve our 100 percent reccomendation.
Well give them a trial.
