Hemkund Sahib - India, Uttar Pradesh It was minus zero Celsius, but no Sikh wouldn't miss the holy bath in the lake, where Guru Govind Singh, the tenth guru of their faith had meditated for years long ago. I had shared the trekking for two days with a Sikh family, who found it surprising when I didn't take the bath. I explained that I usually suffer from cold in my throat, so I wasn't taking it just not to get ill (that was the absolute truth). Their answer was that no man can get ill by bathing in the holy water. In the end I washed my face three times with the water, the equivalent to the bath as my Sikh friend explained me.
