Goree - Senegal, Dakar
In the times of the crusades in Jerusalen, around the XIth century, a hospital was created to help the poorest and those injured in war. Later a whole fellowship was founded around that building, and after a long and fascinating history that I recommend you all to read, the Sovereing Order of Malta was created as it's know today. Now it's a country, somehow, that can be found in Via dei Condotti, 68, near the Piazza di Spagna, in Rome.
All around the world you can find churches, castles and buildings related to this order, as I did in lovely Gorée island.
