Brenda,
The reason that I am here is that, like you, I found Igo too commercialised. Icontributed to Igo for over a year and as I never redeemed any of my Globo points I am thinking about withdrawing some of my journals. I find that they are shown on too many other (sister) sites. I don't know much about the latest developments because I forgot my log on and password for the message boards.
I have been at Globo for some three years and have seen how it developed. The owner of the site is Andy, he is German and lives in Munich. He is in his late twenties and this site is his dream. After a difficult start the site now generates some income for him. (He reminds me very much of my son, who also owns a website but still dreams about an income from it).
Another thing I like is that Globo has members from all over the world, it is more international than Igo. You will find quite a few (ex)Igo members here.
(I continue in the next message, as only 1000 characters are allowed per message.)
